Eyewear must conform to relevant safety standards and legislation. The SATRA eyewear laboratory is able to carry out safety eyewear testing to the most common protective eyewear standards including EN 166 and its associated test methods. SATRA can test safety eyewear for impact resistance, robustness and resistance to ignition. The laboratory is also able to carry out assessments of optical properties including checking spherical, astigmatic and prismatic refractive powers. Light diffusion and variations in luminous transmittance can also be assessed.
